Quilt belonged to his mother, Rose Swirczyski Munford who was born in 1904 in Indian Territory across from the Katy Depot in downtown Oklahoma City, moved uptown to Fourth Street and then to 1401 NE 12 near the Ritz Theater. In the late 1800's the Swirczyski and Munfords came from Poland to Ellis Island and then by wagons to settle in Munster, Tx. Julius and Rosalie married and had 10 children and the two families traveled across the Red River in a wagon caravan to settle in Oklahoma City before statehood. Rose married George Munford and her sister Mary married Albert McRill, born in 1880 in Franklin County, KS. The McRills came to OK Territory in 1902. After establishing the Dispatch People's Voice at Watonga, Albert helped compile the OK Statutes of 1910 and practiced Law in OKC as GA Nichol's attorney. Albert served as OKC Manager and special justice of OK Supreme Court and taught law at OCU and conducted a men's Bible class of 1000 in the downtown Empress Theater. McRill raised eyebrows when he wrote And Satan Came Also, the inside story that exposed OKC bon ton, tenderloin district, The Turf Exchange, The Southern Club, Big Anne's House of Ill Repute, Old Zulu, Noah's Ark and the Red Onion. He joined Overholser and Hefner in cleaning up the early statehood criminal element and corrupt political machine.  Rose's brothers operated the Midwest Bakery on Fourth Street and Wythe worked with the Lyric Board to remodel the Plaza Theater on 16th to produce the Centennial showing of "Oklahoma".  Straight line quilting @ 7-9 st/in.
